Guide: CHoco Sound EMEI Amp Module Upgrade • by Kinki Studio

Tools Required

  • EMEI Amp Module

  • Metric Size Allen Key 2.0mm, 2.5mm, 3.0mm, Tweezer


 

Step 1:

Use a 2.0mm Allen Key to loosen seven(7) screws at the bottom panel to dismantle the bottom panel


Step 2:

Pop the bottom panel out, put it safely aside. Identify the old amp module.


Step 3:

Identify the six(6) connectors, remove them gently and carefully


Note: The connectors are fool-proof, do not be worried if you would make a mistaken connecting them in reverse order. They will only fit in one direction


Step 4:

There are total seven(7) screws securing the AMP Module to the chassis. Use a 3.0mm Allen Key to loosen the three(3) larger screws securing the aluminum block (heatsink) to the chassis


Step 5:

Use a 2.5mm Allen Key to loosen the four(4) screws

Note: There are two screws underneath the preamp module, please pay attention to these two screws


Step 5:

Dismantle the old amp module from the chassis


Step 6:

Total seven(7) screws removed along with the old amp module


Step 7:

Use a tweezer to aid inserting the screw to the position on the new amp module


Step 8:

Position the new amp module to the chassis, use a 2.0mm Allen Key to tighten the screw.

Note: Do it carefully as the screw may be out of position. Repeat Step 7 if required


Step 9:

Use a tweezer to aid & install the second 2.0mm screw.


Step 10:

Tighten all the four(4) 2.0mm screws


Step 11:

Insert the three(3) 3.0mm screws, tighten them by using a 3.0mm Allen Key


Step 12:

Connect six(6) connectors to the new amp module


Step 13:

Done! You have completed the amp module upgrade of the CHoco Sound EMEI Integrated Amplifier!
